High-Performance Green New Materials Industry Integration Exchange Conference - Advanced Polymer Materials Special Event Successfully Held


  On August 9, 2025, the High-Performance Green New Materials Industry Innovation Exchange Conference - Advanced Polymer Materials Session was successfully held in Boxing County, Binzhou City, Shandong Province. This event was hosted by the Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of High-Performance Polyolefin Materials and Recycling (hereinafter referred to as the "Provincial Key Laboratory"), organized by Yellow River Delta Jingbo Chemical Research Institute Co., Ltd., and co-organized by Qingdao University of Science and Technology, Shandong Jingbo Polyolefin New Materials Co., Ltd., Shandong Moyuan Carbon Materials Co., Ltd., Shandong Heavy Oil Processing Technology Innovation Center, and Hainan Bio-E Technology Co., Ltd.

  The meeting was jointly chaired by Li Zhibo, director of the Provincial Key Laboratory and professor at Zhejiang University, and Zhang Zhicheng, member of the Provincial Key Laboratory Academic Committee and professor at Xi'an Jiaotong University. The conference gathered cutting-edge achievements in polymer material synthesis and efficient recycling, promoting the traditional petrochemical industry towards high performance and low carbon, and supporting the industry's upgrade towards "high performance, intelligence, and low carbon." The meeting attracted more than 110 professors from universities and research institutes, partners, and industry experts. The speakers included 1 academician, 2 recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 1 recipient of the National Excellent Young Scientist Fund, 1 member of the National Ten Thousand Talents Program, 4 Taishan Scholars, and 11 top experts in the polymer materials industry.

  At the beginning of the meeting, Wang Yaowei, director and rotating president of Jingbo Holding Group and chairman of Jingbo Petrochemical, delivered the opening speech. Wang emphasized that high-performance materials are the core foundation of strategic emerging industries. Under the background of energy structure adjustment and the "dual carbon" strategy, Jingbo Holding Group takes "serving the country through industry and serving society" as its responsibility, deeply implements the ESG development concept, and is willing to build an innovation platform with all parties in an open manner for "joint technology research, joint standard setting, and shared market."

  During the report session, Researcher Tang Yong from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, shared the latest research results of his team in the field of ethylene polymer materials based on his many years of research experience. Professor Li Yuesheng from Tianjin University shared new methods and technologies for polyolefin material synthesis. Researcher Dong Xia from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, focused on the synthesis and application achievements of high-performance nylon elastomers. Professor He Aihua from Qingdao University of Science and Technology proposed a series of application expansion suggestions around the polybutene series materials. Professor Liu Shaofeng from Qingdao University of Science and Technology focused on efficient transition metal catalysts used for high-performance polyolefin material synthesis.

  Professor Zhang Chunyu from Qingdao University of Science and Technology shared the latest basic research results and industrialization progress around isotactic polymers. Researcher Wang Qinggang from the Qingdao Energy Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, took the iron-based comb-branched butyl rubber independently developed by his team as an example to explore the industrial technology route for future green and low-carbon polymer development. Researcher Zhang Ke from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, closely aligned with the conference theme of recycling, introduced closed-loop recycling technology for crosslinked polymer materials. Subsequently, Professor Hu Dedong from Qingdao University of Science and Technology, Dr. Shen Hua from Professor Zheng Liuchun's team at Tianjin Polytechnic University, and Researcher Wang Hui from the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, respectively shared key technological breakthroughs in polymer materials, including the application of supercritical fluids in polymer materials, synthesis and application of high-performance polyesters, and construction and application of acid-base bifunctional catalysts, sharing the latest research results and technology development trends.

  The successful holding of the High-Performance Green New Materials Industry Innovation Exchange Conference - Advanced Polymer Materials Session is a concrete measure by the Provincial Key Laboratory to thoroughly implement the national "dual carbon" strategy and the Shandong Province "Top Ten Industries" action plan. Looking to the future, the Provincial Key Laboratory will always adhere to the original intention of "rooted in Shandong, serving the whole country, and looking globally," continuously focusing on the three major directions of high performance, greening, and recycling of polyolefin materials, further strengthening the integrated layout of basic research, technological breakthroughs, and industrial demonstration, and building an internationally influential green innovation hub for polyolefins.
