The semi-annual work summary meeting of the Shandong Province Key Laboratory of High-Performance Polyolefin Materials and Recycling was successfully held

　　To comprehensively review the platform's phased achievements, align with major national needs and the forefront of global science and technology, and calibrate the platform's development direction and goals. In August 2025, the Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of High-Performance Polyolefin Materials and Recycling (hereinafter referred to as the "Provincial Key Laboratory") successfully held the semi-annual work summary meeting of the Provincial Key Laboratory in Binzhou City, Shandong Province. More than 50 people attended the meeting, including Zou Xiong, Chairman of the Board of the Provincial Key Laboratory and Rotating President of Jingbo Holding Group; Liu Zhenxue, Director and Secretary-General of the Board and Executive Vice General Manager of Jingbo Research Institute; Professor Li Zhibo, Director of the Provincial Key Laboratory; Liu Qingchun, Executive Director of the Provincial Key Laboratory and Director of the Polymer Chemistry Research Center of Jingbo Research Institute; as well as members of the Director Committee, academic leaders, and industry experts from the three construction units: Jingbo Research Institute, Qingdao University of Science and Technology, and Jingbo Polyolefin. They jointly reviewed the construction achievements of the Provincial Key Laboratory in the first half of 2025 and planned the key tasks for the next phase. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Xiaolin, Director of the Provincial Key Laboratory Office.

　　Liu Qingchun, Executive Director of the Provincial Key Laboratory, presented the semi-annual summary report and suggestions for the work plan for the second half of the year. He systematically reported the work achievements of the Provincial Key Laboratory since its reorganization from multiple dimensions including scientific research results, project breakthroughs, talent introduction and cultivation, and industrial implementation, and proposed opinions and plans for the work in the second half of the year.

　　Zou Xiong, Chairman of the Provincial Key Laboratory, pointed out that Jingbo is implementing the large "Wasp Nest" strategy, committed to building a diversified industrial group with tens of billions in profits and taxes. The Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of High-Performance Polyolefin Materials and Recycling is the best fertile ground for Jingbo to forge the hive and nurture the wasp. Since the approval of the reorganization of the Provincial Key Laboratory more than half a year ago, multiple phased breakthroughs have been achieved through everyone's collaborative efforts. He hopes that all members of the Provincial Key Laboratory will continue to work hard, promote platform construction and development to higher standards, and contribute the wisdom and strength of the Provincial Key Laboratory to the industrial upgrading of the polyolefin industry.

　　Professor Li Zhibo, Director of the Provincial Key Laboratory, expressed gratitude to the board and all co-construction units for their long-term support of the Provincial Key Laboratory. Professor Li mentioned that since the Provincial Key Laboratory was approved for construction in 2015 and successfully passed acceptance in 2017, it was able to be re-approved for reorganization by the end of 2024 due to the decade-long steadfast commitment of Jingbo Holding Group and Qingdao University of Science and Technology. He hopes that the cooperative teams on both sides will always move forward side by side, overcoming difficulties through close cooperation, and jointly build the Provincial Key Laboratory into a model of integration of industry, academia, and research.

　　Zhao Xiaolin, Director of the Provincial Key Laboratory Office, proposed multiple motions at the meeting regarding the platform's 2025 annual performance evaluation and the guidelines for open project applications. Members of the Academic Committee, Director Committee, academic leaders, and industry experts of the Provincial Key Laboratory respectively provided opinions and suggestions on the motions and the future development and construction of the Provincial Key Laboratory. Liu Zhenxue, Director and Secretary-General of the Board, responded to everyone's suggestions and deployed the next work plan for the Provincial Key Laboratory.

　　Against the grand backdrop of the accelerated implementation of the "dual carbon" strategy and increasingly fierce global competition in the new materials industry, Shandong, a traditional petrochemical province, is fully competing in the new high-end polyolefin track with the national mission of being a "green, low-carbon, and high-quality development pioneer zone." At the critical time node of concluding the 14th Five-Year Plan and planning the 15th Five-Year Plan, the Provincial Key Laboratory will always focus on national strategic needs and Shandong Province's "Top Ten Industries" deployment, further gathering the joint efforts of government, industry, academia, research, and application sectors. It will continue to exert efforts in platform construction, scientific research breakthroughs, talent introduction and cultivation, and achievement transformation to ensure the high-quality completion of platform construction tasks, seize the commanding heights of future industries, and contribute greater strength to the high-quality development of the new materials industry in our province and even nationwide.
